This trek takes you through the picturesque terrain surrounding Mt. Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world. As you journey through the region, you’ll witness the fusion of Tibetan culture with the traditions of local Gurung tribes. The trek showcases a diverse mix of cultures, starting with communities such as the Brahman, Chhetri, Magar, Newar, and other indigenous groups. Regarded as one of the most extraordinary trekking routes in the Nepal Himalayas, the Manaslu Circuit Trek is an excellent alternative to the popular Annapurna Circuit. The journey begins in Mache Khola and concludes in Dharapani or Besi Sahar, encircling Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m / 26,774 ft), one of the world’s tallest peaks.

Day 01

Arrival and transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu 1,400 m./4,600 ft./30 min drive

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our friendly airport representative will greet you with a colorful Marigold garland and arrange a smooth transfer to your hotel, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Day 02

Trek preparation day

Discover Kathmandu at your own pace as you gear up for your upcoming trek. Meet the passionate team at Global Adventure Trekking for a detailed briefing about your journey. This is also the perfect opportunity to review and ensure your trekking gear is in top condition with the help of your guide.
Day 03

Kathmandu to Machhe khola 900 m./3,050 ft./ 175 km./108 miles/8 hours

Set off on a scenic adventure to Macchekhola, where the journey unveils vibrant green hills, terraced rice fields, winding rivers, charming villages, and breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal and Manaslu mountain ranges. Along the way, you'll pass through the picturesque town of Dhading Besi, the district headquarters of Dhading. The final stretch of your journey will be off-road. Arriving in Macchekhola by early evening, you'll settle in for the night at a cozy tea house.
Day 04

Machhe khola Trek to Jagat 1,350 m./4,395 ft./ 22 km. /13 miles/6 hours

This narrow, exposed trail crosses the Macchakhola, a path known as the Fish-Steam Trail. Along the way, you’ll pass through a small, charming settlement inhabited by the Gurung, Magar, and Chhetri people. The route includes numerous ascents and descents. You’ll also encounter Tatopani, a natural hot spring. After a brief walk through the forest, cross the river on a suspension bridge and continue your uphill journey to reach the overnight destination of Jagat.
Day 05

Jagat Trek to Deng 1,850 m./ 5,915 ft./19 km./11 miles/ 6-8 hours

The initial section of the trail offers an easy and leisurely walk, guiding you across the Budhi Gandaki. As you ascend through the scenic rice terraces, you’ll reach the beautiful Gurung village of Philim. After crossing the village, the trail enters an uninhabited gorge. You’ll cross the Budi Gandaki on a wooden cantilever bridge, and then the path climbs to the western side of the valley. The trail continues through a serene bamboo forest, leading you to Deng Khola. After crossing the river, the day's journey ends with a relaxing overnight stay in the charming village of Deng.
Day 06

Deng Trek to Namrung 2,650 m./8,630 ft. / 17 km./11 miles/ 7 hours

After a short walk, the trail crosses the Budi Gandaki River. Along the way, you'll find a couple of tea shops where you can grab drinks, cookies, and chocolate bars. The path weaves in and out of two ravines before climbing high above the steep slopes on the opposite side of the river. You'll cross the Budi Gandaki multiple times throughout the day. Take your time to enjoy the stunning landscape, Gomba, and the Mani stone routes. The trail continues upstream through dense forest, leading to a steep climb up to Namrung.
Day 07

Namrung Trek to Lho 2,550 m./ 11,580 ft./11 km./7 miles/5 hours

The trail now leads into the Nupri region, home to the Bhote People, descendants of Tibetan immigrants. The locals typically wear traditional Chubas. As you walk, enjoy the serene beauty of rhododendron, fir, and oak forests, with breathtaking views of Manaslu (8,156 m) and Manaslu North (7,154 m) in the distance. The trail ascends a small hill and reaches Lho, a large village known for its notable landmarks, including a Monastery, Gumba, and the iconic Mani Stone.
Day 08

Lho Trek to Sama Gaon 3,500 m./11 km./8 miles/6 hours

To continue our journey, we must cross the ridge that leads out of the valley and onto the BudhiGandaki side, where we'll navigate through the rocky moraine. We ascend steadily, passing through lush forests, until we reach Lihi, a charming village decorated with numerous Mani Stones, Chortens, and terraced barley fields. The trail descends as we cross the side valley of Simnang Himal, with the majestic Ganesh Himal always within view. We continue onward through the villages of Sho, Lho, and Shyala, before reaching the tranquil Sama Village. From Lho, we are treated to breathtaking views of Mt. Manaslu, and we can also visit the renowned Ribung Gompa. As we approach Shyala, we are surrounded by towering peaks, such as Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) to the left, with other snow-capped summits to the right, and Ganesh Himal standing proudly in the distance. Our night in Sama Gaon will be filled with awe-inspiring views and a peaceful atmosphere that will stay with us long after we leave.
Day 09

Acclimatization day at Sama Gaon

Today is acclimatization day, and the weather is perfect. Sama Gaon, known for its breathtaking beauty, offers a range of exploration options. To the south, you'll find the historic Pungyen Gompa, tucked away behind a ridge facing Manaslu. This spot offers the best vantage point for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. For those seeking more adventure, consider hiking to Birendra Lake, a stunning glacial lake, or taking the more challenging trek to the renowned Manaslu Base Camp. From there, you'll be treated to spectacular views of Samdo (Pangphuchuli), Nagdi Chuli, Simnang Himal, the Manaslu Glacier, and the Manaslu Icefall—it's truly a paradise in itself. After a fulfilling hike, enjoy some leisurely time in the afternoon. Day Tour Options: Option I: Trek to Pungyen Gompa and back (14 km, 550m altitude gain, 6 hours) Option II: Hike to Birendra Lake and back (5 km, 2 hours) Option III: Trek to Manaslu Base Camp and back (17 km, 900m altitude gain, 8 hours)
Day 10

Sama Gaon Trek to Samdo, 3,875 m./14,500 ft./ 10 km./6 miles/4 hours

The trek to Samdo village is another exciting day on a well-known and scenic route. As you journey along, you'll be captivated by panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, lush pine forests, and the iconic Mani Wall. The vistas of the Manaslu range, Buddha Himal, and Shringi Himal are truly breathtaking. After crossing a river via a wooden bridge, you'll find yourself immersed in a memorable and enjoyable day of trekking deep in the heart of the Himalayas. Your night will be spent in the peaceful village of Samdo, rounding off a perfect day.
Day 11

Samdo Trek to Dharamsala 4,460 m./14,632 ft./12 km./8 miles/5 hours

After the acclimatization day in Samagaun, trekkers eagerly anticipate the Larkya Pass. Today, you descend along a wide, gentle path, taking in the impressive, ancient mani stone wall and Chorten. Crossing two streams and admiring the Larkya Glacier, you make your way around the Salka Khola valley before ascending again to Dharmasala. Along the way, you’ll pass Larke Bazaar, a vibrant seasonal Tibetan market, offering another fascinating spot to explore.
Day 12

Dharmasala Trek to Bimtang 3,600 m./11,770 ft. over Larkya La (5,160 m./16,924 ft.)/24 km./15 miles/9 hours

Today is the highlight of your journey as you conquer the Larke La Pass (5,160 m), one of the most breathtaking and impressive crossings. The route is long but gradual, winding alongside the moraine. As you approach, the Larkya Glacier unveils stunning views of Cheo Himal (6,820 m), Gyaji Kung, Kang Guru (6,981 m), the Annapurna Range, and Larkya Peak. From here, you'll begin your descent along the moraine’s crest, navigating steep scree slopes. Continue through a grassy moraine and pass a large Mani stone, which guides you toward a vast meadow. Eventually, you'll arrive in Bimtang, where you can celebrate a triumphant day after successfully crossing the pass.
Day 13

Bhimthang Trek to Tilje 1,970 m./6,463 ft./17 km./10 miles and continue to Dharapani-5 km. (5 hours walking)

Enjoy a scenic walk through the forest and past a waterfall to reach Dharapani. The journey is short and easy, with a lunch stop at Tilje before continuing on to Dharapani. This is also the starting point of the renowned Annapurna Circuit trek, leading to the Larke Pass.
Day 14

Dharapani Jeep to Beshisahar and then Bus to Kathmandu, 205 km./124 miles/8-9 hours.

After enjoying a healthy breakfast, embark on a scenic Jeep ride to Besishahar, traveling 25 km off-road for about 2 hours. Along the way, take a short break for lunch before continuing your journey to Kathmandu by bus. The 180 km journey from Dharapani to Kathmandu will take around 6 hours. The drive offers stunning views of beautiful landscapes, rivers, local villages, and rice terraces. The road is paved and smooth, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant ride. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner to cap off your adventure.
Day 15

Final Departure

As your adventure with us comes to an end, we sincerely thank you for choosing our services. Following our farewell, we will ensure a smooth transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for your safe journey home.
