Overview

The Manaslu Expedition takes you to the summit of Mt. Manaslu, which rises to an impressive 8,163 meters (26,781 ft) above sea level. Also known as “Kutang,” Manaslu is the eighth-highest mountain in the world, situated in the Mansiri Himal range of the Nepalese Himalayas in west-central Nepal. This expedition offers a complete 8,000-meter peak climbing adventure, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayas. Located in a restricted trekking region, Manaslu boasts a diverse landscape and a challenging ascent. Towering dramatically above its surrounding peaks, it is one of the most striking and dominant mountains when viewed from a distance.

More technical and demanding than Cho Oyu and Shishapangma, the Manaslu expedition requires climbers to be in peak physical and mental condition. Experience in high-altitude mountaineering and strong technical climbing skills are essential. Mountain Monarch provides comprehensive support to maximize climbers’ success in reaching the summit. As the eighth-highest peak in the world, Manaslu holds a special allure for mountaineers and adventurers, offering not only a formidable challenge but also unparalleled natural beauty.

Guides will adopt a flexible approach based on the climbers' needs and their level of experience. Typically, the team will spend several days at base camp to organize food, practice rope skills, and acclimatize before moving higher. From base camp, there will be four additional camps established as you make your way to the summit. The base camp itself is comfortably located on solid rock, providing protection from the wind. Proper acclimatization is crucial before ascending to higher altitudes. Sufficient time should be allowed for bad weather and gradual acclimatization. The summit push typically takes place around midnight, ensuring the team reaches the top early in the morning.
