This short yet thrilling trek, lasting under two weeks, allows you to explore both sides of the stunning Langtang Himal region, immersing you in its rich local culture and pristine natural surroundings, all framed by enchanting woodlands.

Starting in the mid-hills, the trek takes you through a dense forested river gorge before opening up to the expansive and picturesque Kyanjin Valley, surrounded by towering peaks. After enjoying your time in the scenic Langtang Valley, the trail continues upward toward the revered Gosainkund, where a sacred glacial pond sits at the heart of an annual religious festival, drawing hundreds of pilgrims who bathe in its holy waters.

From Gosainkund, the trek climbs to its highest point—Gosainkund Pass (Laurabina-La) at 4,609 meters (15,100 feet). From here, the route descends along high ridges, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas and passing through charming farm villages. The adventure culminates at Chisapani, known for its spectacular sunrise vistas of the surrounding peaks, before descending to Sundarijal, completing the unforgettable Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by the staff of View Nepal Treks. They will transfer you to your respective hotels, where our guide/leader will provide important details about the Holy Gosainkund Around Langtang Himal trek. This briefing will include information on the hotels and lodges along the route, as well as the do’s and don’ts. In the evening, enjoy a group welcome dinner.
Day 02

Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m - 07 hrs journey.

Begin this exciting journey by driving northwest from Kathmandu, passing through charming villages and towns, and enjoying breathtaking views of hills, terraced farms, and snow-capped peaks. After traversing the warmer regions, you will reach the cooler climate of Dhunche, located at 1,950 meters, the gateway to Langtang National Park. Dhunche is the largest town in Rasuwa district and the Langtang area, predominantly inhabited by Tamang ethnic groups. From here, descend for two hours to reach Syabrubesi, a village that serves as the gateway to Langtang, Ganesh, the Tamang Heritage Trail, and the Tibet border. This will be your overnight stop.
Day 03

Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350 m - 06 hrs.

The first day's walk of the adventure begins with crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (river), which later merges with the mighty Trisuli River. From there, the journey continues uphill, passing through scattered farm villages and terraced fields, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. As you trek further, you'll enter a forest of rhododendron, pine, and bamboo trees. This area is home to the rare and elusive Red Panda, along with other wildlife. After a rewarding day's walk, you’ll reach the Lama Hotel, nestled within the serene forest surroundings.
Day 04

Trek to Langtang village 3,296 m - 06 hrs.

The morning walk gradually ascends above the river gorge, winding through dense woodlands of tall pine and rhododendron trees. Along the way, you'll pass a few farmhouses that serve as shelters for cattle herders. As you continue, the path leads to a cooler, tranquil spot in a beautiful forest setting at Ghore Tabela. After a refreshing stop, you'll embark on a few more hours of scenic walking to reach Langtang Village, the last settlement before Kyanjin. Here, you can explore this fascinating Tamang village, where the rich Tibetan heritage is reflected in both the culture and lifestyle of the locals.
Day 05

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m - 04 hrs.

After a peaceful overnight stay in Langtang Village, the morning walk begins with a short, steep climb along a winding trail. As you ascend, the gorge opens up into a wide, breathtaking valley, offering stunning views of the snow-capped peaks that surround the Langtang Valley. Continuing along the path, you'll pass by prayer and Mani walls before reaching your final destination at Kyanjin, a picturesque spot nestled within the valley. From here, you'll be treated to magnificent views of the Langtang Lirung Glacier, as well as the towering peaks that encircle both Kyanjin and the Langtang Valley.
Day 06

Rest day at Kyanjin for excursion and hikes.

The rest day offers the perfect opportunity for a short hike and climb, like those to Tsego and Kyanjin Ri, both over 4,000 meters high, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. From this high vantage point, you can take in stunning vistas of Langtang Himal, Ghengu Liru (Langtang II – 6,571m), Langtang Lirung (7,425m), and Kimshun (6,745m). To the south, Shalbachum (6,918m) stands proudly, with Chimsedang Himal forming a ridge of peaks that include Naya-Kanga/Ganjala Peak (5,846m) and Gangchempo, alongside Tilman’s striking Fluted Peak. The panorama extends eastward to Jugal Himal, featuring Dorje Lakpa (6,980m), which creates a dramatic wall of mountains separating Nepal and Tibet.
Day 07

Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 350m - 07 hrs.

In the morning, you'll catch the final breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains in the scenic Langtang Valley. From there, the trail leads downhill, taking you back to Lama Hotel, where you can once again enjoy the cool shade of the forest.
Day 08

Trek to Thulo (larger) Syabru village 2,211 m - 05 hrs.

From Lama Hotel, the morning walk follows an alternate route to Upper Syabru, also known as Thulo Syabru. After a short downhill stretch to the Riverside and Bamboo area, you'll pass small lodges nestled among rhododendron, oak, and bamboo forests. After a brief rest, the trail continues uphill to a ridge that leads to Thulo Syabru. Thulo Syabru is a charming Tamang village, with houses connected by beautifully carved windows and doors. Above the village, an ancient monastery adds to the village's picturesque setting.
Day 09

Trek to Sing Gompa or Chandanbari at 3,254 m - 05 hrs.

The walk from Thulo Syabru village takes you on a climb through a dense, beautiful forest of rhododendrons, oaks, and pine trees, offering stunning views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and even as far as Manaslu and the Annapurna Himalayas. Though the climb is steep, the journey is captivating as you pass through a vibrant forest with over 10 varieties of rhododendron species. Along the way, you’ll pass summer pastures, the shaded spots where cattle herders rest, and then continue on the winding, pleasant trail to Singh Gomba / Chandanbari village. Here, you’ll find a cheese factory and an old monastery perched atop the village.
Day 10

Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m - 05 hrs.

From Shing Gompa, our journey continues toward the holy Gosainkund. The trek begins with a gradual ascent through a rhododendron forest, gradually climbing toward the Lauri Binayak Pass, which sits at an elevation of 3,932 meters (12,900 feet). As we pass through Laurebina and Cholang Pati, the path descends into a picturesque landscape offering breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. Our day concludes with an overnight stop at the sacred Gosainkund Lake. Gosainkund holds deep spiritual significance in Hindu tradition, as described in ancient epics. It is believed to be a glacial pond created by Lord Shiva's trident (Trishul) in a divine act. Both Hindus and Buddhists from Nepal and India pilgrimage to Gosainkund, especially during the full moon of August, marking the auspicious ‘Janai Purnima’ festival.
Day 11

Trek to Ghopte 3,566 m via Gosainkund pass / Laurabina-La 4,609 m - 06 hrs.

After a peaceful overnight stay at the holy Gosainkund, the morning trek begins with a climb over the Eastern Laurabinya or Gosainkund Pass, standing at 4,609 meters (15,121 feet), our highest point of the adventure. Following the crossing, the trail descends with a few short ascents and descents, leading us to our overnight stop at Gopte Odar. This small settlement, nestled in the heart of the forest, lies along the route between Kathmandu and the Helambu region.
Day 12

Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m - 06 hrs.

Begin the morning with a scenic walk through the forest, following a winding path that gradually ascends, with a brief, steep climb to a high ridge at Thadepati (3,597 meters). Here, the trekking trails of Helambu and Kathmandu meet. Thadepati offers stunning views of snow-capped peaks and panoramic vistas of rolling hills and valleys. The area has 5-6 lodges and teahouses, perfect for a well-deserved break. After resting, continue downhill most of the way to Kutumsang village, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 13

Trek to Chisapani 2,195m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m - 06 hrs.

After a refreshing stop at Kutumsang village, begin the morning with an uphill trail through farm fields and terraces, with occasional ascents and descents. As the walk progresses, enter a forested area offering grand views of the surrounding landscapes and the majestic snow-capped peaks from the Ganesh-Langtang range to Jugal Himal. Continue past the charming Gul-Bhanjyang village. Heading closer to the Kathmandu Valley, the path leads you to Chisapani, a picturesque village with stunning forest scenery throughout the walk. From Chisapani, descend to Patibanjayang village, where you’ll enjoy views of the beautiful landscapes. After a short uphill climb for an hour, you'll reach Chisapani Danda, your final overnight stop in the high hills before heading back to Kathmandu. Chisapani village, with its numerous lodges perched on a ridge north of Kathmandu Valley, lies along the route to Langtang, Helambu, and Nagarkot. This spot offers breathtaking sunrise and sunset views over a spectacular chain of mountains, making it a perfect end to your journey.
Day 14

Trek to Sundarijal 1,380m an hour drive back to Kathmandu.

After enjoying the breathtaking sunrise over the mountains, our final day of the adventure takes us through a serene forest and sprawling farmlands on a downhill path. We pass through the Tamang villages of Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang, offering stunning views of the Kathmandu Valley. The walk continues downhill, leading us to Sundarijal, a picturesque spot known for its small forest and fresh water streams. This tranquil area, a popular weekly retreat for locals seeking escape from the bustle of Kathmandu, was once a summer residence during the Rana regime in the early 1950s. From Sundarijal, it's a one-hour descent to the rim of the Kathmandu Valley, where a short drive brings us back to the city. After an unforgettable time in the mountains, the rest of the afternoon is free for personal activities and shopping.
Day 15

International departure homeward bound.

On your last day in Nepal, after an unforgettable journey around the Holy Gosainkunda and Langtang Himal, filled with cherished memories, our staff will transfer you to the airport according to your flight time for your departure—whether you're heading home or continuing on to your next adventure.
