The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek takes adventurers to the base of Mount Annapurna, the world’s tenth-highest peak, situated in the North Mid-West Himalayas. This trek is among the most popular in the region, attracting over 100 visitors annually. Along the trail, trekkers are treated to stunning views of the Annapurna massif, including the iconic Machapuchare Himal, or “Fish Tail,” and Hiunchuli.

Reaching an altitude of 4,130 meters, the trek offers a journey through diverse landscapes, from lush forests to picturesque villages. You’ll pass through vibrant rhododendron forests and encounter charming, remote settlements. Its popularity stems from being moderately challenging—ideal for individuals with an average fitness level. However, trekkers should prepare for steep sections and continuous uphill and downhill stretches.

Beyond its natural beauty, the trek offers an enriching cultural experience. Day 01

Kathmandu arrival and transfer to the hotel. (1400m)

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, our office representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. If you arrive in the morning or during the day, you’ll have free time to relax after checking in. In the evening, our senior guide will meet you for an orientation session about the Annapurna Base Trek. Afterward, you’ll be taken to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel, including breakfast.
Day 02

Drive to Nayapul from Pokhara, then trek to Ulleri (2070m.|6791ft., 5 - 6 hrs)

From Nayapul, we’ll hike towards Ulleri, following the Modi Khola (River) along a picturesque route. Our path takes us through Birethanti, a bustling village with shops and teahouses. From there, we’ll continue along the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola, gradually ascending the valley. The final stretch involves a short but steep climb via stone steps from Hile and Tikhedhunga, leading us to Ulleri.
Day 03

Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2875m.|9432ft., 5 to 6 hrs)

The journey to Ghorepani begins with a scenic hike along a paved trail winding through oak and rhododendron forests. After about an hour, we’ll arrive at Banthanti, a picturesque Gurung village. From there, a two-hour trek takes us to Nangthanti, where we can pause to admire the breathtaking views of Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South. Continuing onward, a short walk brings us to Ghorepani, a place renowned for its stunning vistas of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Dhaulagiri. We’ll spend the night in Ghorepani, enjoying warm food, genuine hospitality, and a well-deserved rest.
Day 04

Sunrise from Poonhill then trek to Tadapani (2650m.|8694ft., 6 - 7 hrs)

We left Ghorepani Hotel early for the Ghorepani Poon Hill Viewpoint. The trail mainly consisted of moderate vertical stairs, with a few notable points like Poonhill Entry and Mobile Tower Point. At the viewpoint, we enjoyed panoramic views of peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, and Machapuchare. After breakfast, we hiked toward Tadapani, first ascending, then descending to Deurali, followed by a steep uphill and downhill trail to Tadapani. The route featured rivers and waterfalls along the way.
Day 05

Tadapani to Sinuwa Via Chhomrong village (2340m.|7676ft., 6-7 hrs)

The hike will be easy and enjoyable as we descend toward Sinuwa. We'll bid farewell to Tadapani and trek downhill, passing through scenic landscapes before reaching Sinuwa, a small village offering views of the Modi and Chhomrong Khola rivers. From here, we'll continue our descent over a bridge across the Modi River, heading towards Chhomrong, a picturesque settlement located beneath the towering Annapurna I. After crossing the bridge, we’ll make our way up for two hours to reach Sinuwa. Along the way, we'll be treated to breathtaking views of the mountains to the north, visible from the village.
Day 06

Sinuwa to Deurali (3230m.|10595ft., 6 - 7 hrs)

Sinuwa offers a breathtaking view of the rising sun over the majestic Himalayas. After breakfast, we’ll begin our ascent towards Deurali, which will take about an hour and a half to reach Bamboo. As we move through a vibrant bamboo and rhododendron forest, the air is fresh, and the sounds of chattering birds fill the atmosphere. Today’s destination is Deurali, where we’ll reach Hiku Cave, offering clear views of glaciers and rivers. The journey involves crossing several suspension bridges and rivers before finally arriving in Deurali.
Day 07

Trek to Annapurna Base camp (4130m.|13548ft., 6 - 7 hrs)

We’ll embark on a trek to our ultimate destination, Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. As we make our way from Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m), the stunning scenery will include views of Mardi Himal, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna I. Along the way, we must remain cautious, as the trails are susceptible to landslides. Upon reaching Annapurna Base Camp, we’ll be greeted by the towering Annapurna I right in front of us. The vistas and the sunset over the base camp will leave us in awe.
Day 08

ABC to Sinuwa (2340m.|7676ft., 6 -7 hrs)

If the weather is clear, we'll begin the day by watching the breathtaking dawn from Annapurna Base Camp. After breakfast, we’ll make our way back to Sinuwa, following rugged trails through sparse forests. As we descend, we’ll pass lush hills, and the downhill path will make the hike a bit easier. Along the way, the stunning views of the Annapurna Range will ease any fatigue. After a couple of hours of trekking, we’ll reach Deurali. But our journey doesn’t end there – we’ll continue our descent to Sinuwa, passing through Bamboo and Hiku Cave.
Day 09

Trek down to Siwai via Jhinudanda, then drive to Pokhara (800m.|2626ft., 7 to 8 hrs)

We will embark on a two-hour trek from Sinuwa to Siwai, ascending towards Chhomrong while soaking in breathtaking views of the mountains, waterfalls, and scenic farmlands. Continuing along the picturesque trail, we'll make our way from Chhomrong to Jhinu Danda. After crossing the Kimrong Khola on a suspension bridge, we’ll enter Siwai. From there, a jeep will take us through Nayapul and on to Pokhara.
Day 10

Drive back to Kathmandu (1400m) - 7 hrs drive

Start your day in Pokhara with a fulfilling breakfast at your hotel, then head to the tourist bus park for a scenic 7-hour drive to Kathmandu. As you travel, take in the stunning landscapes and the serene views along the Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel to relax and reflect on the journey. This road trip offers a perfect mix of comfort and adventure, letting you experience the beauty of Nepal as you make your way from Pokhara to the lively city of Kathmandu.

  • For peak climbing, a summit bonus of at least $100 for the climbing guide, with an optional tip for other staff.
  • Sherpa Altitude Adventure provides oxygen for safety if necessary. The cost is $400 per bottle.
  • Sherpa Altitude Adventure can arrange helicopter services if required for rescue or other reasons.
  • Excludes all costs and expenses not listed under "Cost Includes."
