Starting from Upper Pisang, you'll embark on the most challenging path, marked by steep ascents and winding turns. Along the way, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring views of majestic peaks like Lamjung Himal (6,983m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Gandarbha Chuli (6,250m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Gangapurna (7,544m), Glacier Dome (7,193m), and Khangsar Kan, as you trek through the upper paths of Upper Pisang, Ghyaru, and Ngawal (6,091m). As you ascend along the Annapurna Circuit, you'll notice the air growing colder, drier, and more intense. Before heading to Tilicho Lake, take advantage of this rest day as outlined in the Annapurna Full Circuit Trek itinerary. Spend some time acclimating with a leisurely stroll to explore the nearby Gangapurna Lake and its surroundings. While the path to this scenic spot can be a bit challenging, with small pebbles scattered along the way, the views are absolutely breathtaking. The tranquil Gangapurna Lake, fed by glacial meltwater, is set against a backdrop of towering mountains and rugged hills. From the lake, you can admire stunning peaks such as Glacial Dom, Khangsar Kang, Mt. Gangapurna, and Annapurna. For an extra adventure, many hikers opt for side trips to the picturesque Ice Lake and Base Camp.
Day 07

Trek from Manang (3540m) to Ledar (4200m)

The Annapurna Full Circuit Trekking Route climbs from Manang village to the settlement of Tengi, crossing a spring before continuing its ascent out of the Marshyangdi Valley. The trail then veers northwest into the Jarsang Khola valley, progressing northward as it gradually gains elevation. Along the way, trekkers will pass through meadows and juniper tree scrub. Near the route’s continuation, you'll find the small settlement of Ghusang, with its distinctive mud-roofed buildings. The trail then leads through grazing meadows, known as Yak Kharka, where yak and horse herds roam. After crossing a small river on a wooden bridge, the path takes you past a historic Mani wall, nestled in a serene meadow, eventually reaching the charming village of Ledar.
Day 08

Trek from Ledar (4200m) to Thorung Phedi (4525m

Today, you'll trek to Thorung High Camp, also known as Thorung Phedi. The journey typically takes around 4 to 5 hours, depending on your physical condition and the weather. The higher altitude and frequent strong winds can make the trek more challenging. Snow along the Annapurna Circuit can slow your progress even more. It's important to follow your guide and take your time, moving carefully and steadily. As you walk, you might spot herds of yaks and blue sheep grazing across the river. The landscape around Thorung Phedi is stark and rocky, quite different from the lush, green lowlands you passed through earlier in the trek. There are only a few tea houses in the area. If you're not too tired and ready to push on, reaching the High Camp today will make tomorrow's climb easier.

From the pass, you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna Range, Thorong Peak, the Dhaulagiri Range, Nilgiri, and other towering peaks. After soaking in the breathtaking scenery and capturing some memories in photos, you'll descend towards Muktinath. The route from Thorung La Pass to Muktinath is entirely downhill. Muktinath is not only a significant Buddhist site but also the second-largest Hindu temple in the region, attracting a large number of Hindu pilgrims. The temple complex features two small ponds and 108 water taps. Just a short distance away, you'll find the Dhola Mebar Gompa, also known as the Jwalamai Temple (goddess of fire), where a natural gas flame burns brightly behind a grill near the spring, surrounded by a collection of Chorten.
