Overview

Chulu East Peak Climbing offers an exhilarating ascent to a peak soaring over 6,000 meters in the Manang Valley. Standing at 6,584 meters, Chulu East is one of two Chulu Peaks, alongside Chulu West Peak, which reaches 6,059 meters. This stunning peak serves as a bridge between the Annapurna Himalayan Range and the Damodar Himal, which stands at 6,042 meters.

Nestled between the headwaters of the Marsyangdi River and the Mesokanto La Pass at 5,099 meters, Chulu East Peak can be tackled solo, but it is frequently paired with the Thorung La Pass trek. This combination creates a fantastic blend of high-altitude trekking and peak climbing in Nepal.

The journey rewards you with breathtaking views of the snow-capped Annapurna Massif (8,091 meters), Dhaulagiri Massif (8,167 meters), and Manaslu (8,163 meters). You will also catch glimpses of Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Tilicho, Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 meters), and Mt. Muktinath throughout the trek.

The climbing route traverses the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), showcasing a rich diversity of wildlife and vegetation, making this adventure a truly unforgettable experience.

High-altitude villages such as Thakali, Gurung, and Bhotia add to the cultural richness of the Annapurna region. Significant cultural sites include the ancient Braga Monastery in Manang and the Muktinath Temple in Mustang. Climbing Chulu Peak in conjunction with the Annapurna Circuit Trek allows you to immerse yourself in the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of the Manangese people.

Notable features include the hundreds of Buddha statues at Braga Monastery and the natural flame alongside the 108 waterspouts at Muktinath Temple. The trek begins in the Marsyangdi River Valley and concludes at the Kali Gandaki River Valley.

An exploration of the scenic Lake City of Pokhara is another highlight of the Annapurna Circuit trek and Chulu East Peak climbing. A picturesque flight from Jomsom to Pokhara offers stunning aerial views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu regions.
